Viewfield + Google Drive and Docs

Open any draft or Brief as a Google Doc, or save it to Google Drive as a Word file, and send a finalized Brief, the approved position or a Decision note to a folder you choose. Viewfield can only see the files it creates.

How you will use it
  • Export on every draft and Brief: Open as Google Doc, or Save to Google Drive as Word (.docx)
  • A Google Doc per Brief, where your team already reads
  • The approved position as a page Viewfield keeps current when it changes
  • Nothing read: the app sees only the files it created
What Viewfield writes
  • A Google Doc, or a Word file in My Drive, when someone chooses a Google row in Export
  • A document per artifact, in My Drive or the folder you set as the default for that kind
  • A rewrite of a document Viewfield created, when the source object gains a version or the position is published
In the loop

What Google Drive and Docs does in the loop, as a destination.

  1. From a Decision

Sending a Brief or publishing the position is a recorded Decision with a name and a date. Viewfield writes only what a person decided.

  2. Rendered once

One renderer per artifact kind; the same markdown reaches every destination. The artifact carries the object, its version and a link back.

  3. Kept current

The approved position is refreshed on every accepted proposal, with the version on the page. An external edit is overwritten on the next refresh and the page says so. Nothing is ever deleted.

What it will not do

Never reads your Drive: the drive.file scope sees only what Viewfield created

Never edits a document it did not create

Never deletes a document; a retired one is rewritten with a banner
